South Orange Village Hall, built in , will be revamped into a restaurant and banquet center, officials confirmed. The South Orange Village Hall, which is on both the state and national lists of historic places , will be "adaptively reused" into a restaurant and banquet space, officials confirmed. The decision to convert village hall comes after a board of trustee vote last week. It's the culmination of a months-long, community-wide debate over whether the village should restore the deteriorating building and maintain ownership of it, or revamp it. The council had two competing offers - one from the South Orange Hotel Group of investors that would see it turn into a room boutique hotel. The other, which officials confirmed the board chose, was from Landmark Hospitality. The redesign of the building, Village President Sheena Collum said, will be a restorative one.
